DAMS duo Ayumu Iwasa and Roy Nissany secured a double points finish for the team in the FIA Formula 2 Feature Race in Austria, battling through changeable conditions to both make it into the top-10.
Ayumu Iwasa took second place in the FIA Formula 2 Sprint Race in wet conditions on his first visit to Silverstone, claiming his second podium finish of the 2022 season.
Ayumu Iwasa picked up a point for DAMS in Round 6 of the 2022 FIA Formula 2 Championship after finishing eighth in Saturday’s Sprint Race.
DAMS’ Ayumu Iwasa showed excellent pace on Friday to originally qualify in third position on his first visit to Monaco, before being penalised for speeding in a yellow flag zone.

DAMS showed excellent pace in Round 3 of the 2022 FIA Formula 2 Championship at Imola, scoring points in both races and leading the Feature Race with Roy Nissany.
DAMS scored 13 points at the 2022 FIA Formula 2 Championship’s second round in Saudi Arabia, with Ayumu Iwasa and Roy Nissany finishing in the top ten in both races.

With over 30 years of racing history, DAMS is now heading into a new era, as Co-Team Principals Olivier and Grégory Driot have come to an agreement with close family friend Charles Pic, which will see the former Formula 1 driver take over at the helm of the French outfit.
Did you have other potential buyers?
No because it wasn’t for sale. We were contacted by Charles and very quickly found his approach and vision in line with our values and racing spirit. Charles has achieved a lot in motorsport, he’s a great asset and his plans will bring the team forward and help maintain DAMS’ successful legacy. There are historical connections between the Pic family and ours, through our father, Charles’ grandfather, and ex-DAMS drivers such as Eric Bernard, Olivier Panis and Arthur Pic.
The agreement does not include the Nissan e.dams programme in Formula E, and is exclusively for DAMS in Formula 2.
